Matt is an accomplished strategic communicator with deep experience in state government, national politics, and crisis communications. He provides crisis communications and proactive strategic counsel to a wide cross section of industries.

Matt navigates organizations through the complex landscape of cybersecurity and data privacy in multiple sectors: retail, healthcare, higher education, technology, and mass transit. His strategic counsel has enabled organizations in biotech, healthcare, and civil society to manage through complex operational challenges with success. Matt’s media relations experience with trade media and national media alike has resulted in successful outcomes for his clients.

Throughout his career, Matt has earned respect on both sides of the aisle as he navigates complex problems and assesses the political landscape surrounding today’s toughest policy challenges in hotly contested environments. He works as an aggressive advocate to position issues to the right stakeholders to achieve successful results outcomes for corporations and candidates alike.

Matt comes to Resolute from the Office of New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy where he served as Deputy Press Secretary. In this role he as both spokesperson and communications lead for transportation, infrastructure, economic development and healthcare policy issues. Prior to that position, he worked in the New Jersey Department of Transportation where he managed the media relations and digital media initiatives for a variety of multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects in one of the most heavily trafficked regions of the country.

In early 2020, Matt worked as deputy communications director for Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign in Illinois. He began his career in politics where he first worked as a field organizer for Cory Booker’s Senate campaign. This led to a fund-raising position with Gillibrand for Senate and Off the Sidelines PAC in New York.

For three years he coordinated fundraising efforts for multiple U.S. Senate campaign committees to broaden women’s participation in the United States Congress. His work contributed to the campaigns of some of the biggest names in national Democratic politics, including Maggie Hassan for Senate, Kamala Harris for Senate, and Tammy Duckworth for Senate. In 2017, he joined Murphy for Governor as Deputy Finance Director.
