He provides crisis communications and proactive strategic counsel to clients in a wide cross section of industries.
Matthew navigates organizations through the complex reputational risk landscape of cybersecurity and data privacy in multiple sectors, including healthcare, technology, higher education, retail, nonprofit, and mass transit. His strategic counsel has enabled organizations to effectively manage the communications response through complex operational challenges. Matthew’s media relations experience with trade media and national media alike has resulted in successful outcomes for his clients in shaping their public narratives.
Matthew comes to Resolute after a career in government and politics. His government experience includes serving as a spokesperson for New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, acting as communications lead for transportation, infrastructure, economic development, and healthcare and insurance policy. He also served as a spokesperson for the New Jersey Department of Transportation, managing the media relations and digital media initiatives for a variety of multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects in one of the most heavily trafficked regions of the country.
Matthew’s deep experience in politics includes serving in senior communications and finance roles for Michael Bloomberg, Governor Phil Murphy’s (NJ), United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. He began his professional career with the Congressional Affairs team at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration at the United States Department of Commerce.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the George Washington University, and a master’s degree in international affairs from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.
